Sealed bids must be received by the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, no later than 2:00 p.m. February 29, 2012 for the following:
“STATE AVENUE CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS”
The project is generally described as and includes but is not limited to construction of twenty seven (27) bus stations for the CONNEX bus service in Wyandotte County, Kansas, and up to five (5) additional add alternate stations, which KCATA reserves the right to select based upon preference as indicated on the bid response form and availability of budget. Station improvements generally included new sidewalks, concrete foundations, and landscape areas, installation of bus station amenities including shelters and kiosks and electrical service at some locations. Street work includes new concrete curb and 10” concrete bus pads.

Topeka Rescue Mission to Host Public Forum

The Topeka Rescue Mission will host a public forum Wednesday, February 1 at the Great Overland Station, 701 N. Kansas Avenue.
The forum begins at 5:30 p.m., doors open at 5:15 p.m.
The forum will discuss the following issues:
- Recent expansion of Topeka Rescue Mission,
- Strategic plan for the future Collaboration of Homeless Services in Topeka,
- The acquisition of their newest property, 206 NW Morris.
Immediately following the forum, attendees can tour the 206 NW Morris building, the proposed location of another shelter.
