A year ago this month, the seed that would become The Leadership and Sustainability Institute for Black Male Achievement (LSI) was planted at the Campaign for Black Male Achievement’s Innovation and Impact Forum.Today, that seed has grown into a network of 1,800 individuals representing 1,200 organizations.
This morning, we unveiled a new name for the LSI, The Institute for Black Male Achievement, and launched anew website, which we believe captures the breadth of the BMA field and the unwavering commitment of this network to improving the life outcomes of black men and boys.
Connection Is the Cornerstone of Change
Our hope is that the new site will become a digital anchor for the field that reflects the vision of IBMA to foster the growth, sustainability, and impact of black male achievement leaders and organizations.
The IBMA site was designed to promote exchanges of learning and collaboration within the black male achievement field. We hope you will take the time to explore the site and visit frequently for up-to-date information about the latest happenings in the black male achievement universe as well as resources to strengthen your organizational capacity and increase your impact for change.
Also, please join us for a Twitter Party @bmachievement on Tuesday, October 22, 2:30-3:30 Eastern. We will use the launch of the site as a springboard for celebrating black male achievement and discussing new movements and the momentum for change within our field.
And, if you haven’t already, we encourage you to join us @bmachievement this month as we celebrate Black Male Achievement Month on Twitter #bmaoct.
