|During the past 15 years, the Kansas City Business Journal has honored nearly 400 of the area’s
most accomplished businesswomen through our Women Who Mean Business awards program.
In discussions with these women, and other area businesswomen, we consistently hear about a
desire for ongoing mentoring and networking opportunities.
We’re now forming a new program to address this need.
Women Mentoring Women is an affinity club, limited to 50 women who have a strong
desire and commitment to connect with successful businesswomen in our community.
Our goals revolve around connecting, supporting and developing businesswomen in Kansas City.
Women Mentoring Women members will receive exclusive benefits that include:
- Three roundtable events, in which attendees can choose from five discussion topics.
Each event will last approximately 90 minutes, with time for two 30-minute discussion sessions and time for networking, lunch, etc. Events are planned for October, December and February.
- One ticket to the Women Who Mean Business awards luncheon, where we recognize our newest class of 25 prominent area businesswomen. The luncheon is Aug. 1 at the Overland Park Convention Center.
- One ticket to the Business Journal’s Mentoring Monday 2015 program, which provides opportunities for one-on-one and small-group mentoring sessions, and a chance
to network with other businesswomen. In addition to the regular program, members will
be provided with a list of mentors in advance and we will reserve a spot for them with
their chosen mentor.
- A new, one-year subscription to the Kansas City Business Journal, which includes
the current Book of Lists plus the coming 2015 Book of Lists.
If you have colleagues in your company who may benefit from the mentoring opportunity please feel free to forward this email.
Our inaugural Women Mentoring Women class is limited to 50 members. The program cost is $400. For more information, please contact Kent Barthol at kbarthol or

We look forward to hearing from you and hope to have the opportunity to get to know you.
