Topeka, Kan. – CRC will partner with YWCA of NE Kansas for an innovative new event. The Advocacy Series will consist of three half-day events featuring continental breakfast, knowledgeable educators, advocacy basics, and specialized government information.
November 2nd starting at 8:00 a.m., a continental breakfast will be provided, Kansas Action for Children will be holding the first session on advocacy basics at the YWCA (225 SW 12th). The focus will be centered on non-profits and how they would get involved, the difference between advocacy and lobbying, and the skills the staff need to advocate.
There will be a short 30-minute networking snack break at 9:30 a.m., then the session will resume at 10:00 a.m. with Chris Keshaun educating on how storytelling is an effective tool and how to tell a story through advocacy. The day will end with a wrap-up and Q&A at 11:30 a.m. till noon.
