WIOA Webinar: Lessons Learned & Strategies for the Future – October 30, 2017

National Initiatives
Over a year ago, we hosted a webinar, focused on supporting communities in advancing WIOA for individuals with barriers to employment. This webinar lifted up the work of stakeholders helping to ensure WIOA state planning and implementation was taking into account the workforce needs and interests of individuals facing barriers to employment (people experiencing homelessness, people returning from incarceration, youth, and people of color among others).

So…what has been happening since then? Join us on October 30, as we learn more from stakeholders about how WIOA has been implemented in these communities. Hear lessons learned, challenges faced, recommendations for other communities, and future focus.

Confirmed Speakers:

– Melissa Young, Heartland Alliance
– Heidi S. Boyd, Hennepin County Housing Stability & Brian Paulson, Pohlad Family Foundation
– Chaer Robert & Laura Ware, Colorado Center on Law & Policy
– Will Heaton, Center for Employment Opportunities
– Erika Rincón Whitcomb, PolicyLink
